My Weird Habits

I needed some self-talk!

I needed to practice what I preach!

“Lianne, your lipstick is not going to make you more or less likeable! And if people think to themselves that you look better with lipstick, at least they got it right.”

And guess what, now I don’t even think about lipstick or bland looks anymore. I just know my lipstick embarrassment won’t happen again.

In hindsight, what a silly weird experience did lipstick cause! But it also reminded me of a principle I so often discuss with ladies.

How many times do we not break our heads over “silly weird” things that should never ever even be an issue? Yet, that voice in our head does not keep quiet and continuously reminds us of the stuff that makes us feel insecure and not good enough!

I want to share a little secret with you, that is such a known fact, it is actually not a secret.  People do not like us for our looks! They like us for how we make them feel.  You surely did not choose your friends for their looks. Friendships and other connections happen because of how we feel in each other’s presence.  Figure flaws, looks, our perceptions of outer attractiveness often trip us into shyness, inferiority, and hiding! I want to encourage you to go out and make people feel special. You have your own unique DNA, characteristics, and life experience that someone out there can benefit from!

Go and be the light in someone’s dark tunnel, the sunshine in someone’s cloud, and the inspiration in someone’s despair… and remind them to not wear lipstick behind their masks!

Take care, love yourself and share your experiences.
